The International Honey Exporters Organization (IHEO) was founded back in 1984 in the Apimondia in Mexico City by three exporter country representatives.

After more than 20 years, the IHEO has 17 country-members representing more than 85% of the honey exports in the world. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Cuba, Hungary, India, Mexico, New Zealand, Salvador, Turkey, Uruguay and Vietnam have representatives in the organization.

The main task of the IHEO is to keep the exporters of the member countries informed of the local honey situation and prices in the main exporter countries.
